Newly Printed: “Military Ink: a pen at war. Twenty-Five years of military artwork with the light-hearted touch commissioned by International Military Antiques, Inc., from 1985 to 2010.”
IMA first came to be known in U.S. collector’s market in 1981 via advertisements in “The Shotgun News”. By 1986 artist Scott Novzen joined, the then infant IMA crew, as our dedicated illustrator. Not only were his cartoon-like illustrations extremely innovative and accurate but Scott also extensively participated in many of the purchase and marketing decisions that the company made over the next twenty plus years. In fact, he started illustrating the material from the Nepalese palace purchase a full ten years before we took delivery of the 430 tons of antique weapons in 2003!
All of these original works have all been carefully preserved and archived, but now for the very first time, at the urging of our customers, we have produced a dedicated book as a tribute to Scott’s amazing skill. Always taking the “light-hearted” view of Military History, his illustrations have become favorites with collectors for over a generation. So here it is, a 12″ x 8 1/2″, 96 page volume containing nearly 200 finished pen and ink illustrations, many old favorites, some never before seen. This book documents Scott’s process; from initial pencil outlines, to full color works of art, featuring multiple conflicts and nations thought history and may even provide a little laughter. This is an inspiring and creative work that will stir the memories of not only Shotgun News readers but any lover of Military History.
Makes an ideal gift! A memento that you will look at again and again that will put a smile on your face and will warm your collector’s heart.
