Original Item: Only One Available. This is a small but substantial Flintlock pistol from the French Revolution Era, as carried (in a large pocket) by French Gendarmes (Police) during the late 1700s and early 1800s.
The pistol is equipped with a 6 3/4 inch barrel and has an overall length of just 12 inches, firing a most likely a 5/8″ lead ball. This would pack a serious punch for anyone on the receiving end. It has a lovely walnut stock with all Iron mountings except for the bronze flash pan. The lock has traces of markings, but they are not legible. It is functional, but currently fires at half cock due to a worn tumbler.
A Classic French Flintlock Pistol used by the Gendarmerie.
