Original Item: Only One Available. This Pistol is somewhat unusual, as on would expect it to be the French Model of 1822 Flintlock pistol that was later converted to the percussion system after 1842. It is marked faintly on the lock Mre. Imp. de St. Etienne, however while it appears to have been made in the 1822 fashion, it was made directly as a percussion pistol and not originally in flintlock.
The lock plate does not have the expected remnants of the pan, frizzen, and frizzen spring, and the stock does not appear to have been made to accommodate the standard pan and bolster. It has all correct brass mounts and comes complete with ramrod and is still smooth bored, however it has really seen service and sustained some repairs during its working life and shows its age.
It is original, fully cleaned and is ready to display. Definitely an interesting little pistol.
