Original Item: Only One Available. This came to us from a Collection that was put together in the 1950’s and 1960’s, and remained in storage ever since. Perfect for personal protection in any City, especially Paris, London or New York, as the 1860’s were a real period of turmoil, war and civilian unrest.
Probably French made, this is a very smart DOUBLE Barrel PINFIRE breech loading pistol. It has smoothbore barrels of just 4 1/2″ and an overall length of 9″, complete with fold away triggers until the pistol is fully cocked. This is the original “close quarters concealable breech loading pistol” of the era. The metal work is all polished bright as the day it was made, with minimal cross hatch engraved decoration around the action. It is fitted with a typical carved and fluted French grip, which appears to be made of horn or bone.
The pistol is complete with a sliding sight/safety in full working order in about .38 caliber. In great display condition, ANTIQUE circa 1860/1865.
