Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice example of a Cold War era Polish fighting knife produced at Fabryka Broni “Łucznik” Radom, Poland. The maker’s stamp is an oval with the number 11 in the center, with the date 1956 beneath it and can be seen on the ricasso. On the opposite side of the ricasso is the blade’s serial number which is A12113 and matches the number stamped on the face of the scabbard. This knife was issued to airborne troops as well as ground troops and even special border guards.
The condition of the knife is excellent, with minor defects. The blade shows signs of minor use and has minor scratches. The handle has a chip in the wood close to the pommel and the pommel itself has cracks on the front and back. The condition of the wood is good and still has the original finish to it and minor indentations in it. The scabbard is in good condition with some rub marks on the front and back sides that removed the black paint. The leather for the belt loop is soft and flexible and is in good condition for it’s age but sadly the leather piece that snaps around the handle of the knife is missing.
This fighting knife is definitely a warm welcome to any Cold War collector!
