Original Item: Only One Available. This was once a lovely French Musket, but it has seen hard service, probably in the U.S. Civil War. Afterwards it was shortened slightly and half stocked for Civilian use, so now a bit of an old lady. The original sights were removed, and just a shotgun-style front brass bead is installed now. Cleaned and restored to be put in its best light.
The lock functions, but fires at half-cock, which is very close to the nipple. Still retains its original ramrod, shortened for the reduced length. There are traces of the original stock cartouche on the left butt stock, and also the lock plate has traces of a proof mark.
Ready to hang on the wall and display!
