Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice example of the Standard socket bayonet for the Austrian Model 1842 Augustin Rifled Musket, many of which were imported during the U.S. Civil War. These were originally issued with a “Tube Lock”, an interesting design somewhere between a flintlock and a percussion lock. After this system because obsolete, many were converted to percussion and then disposed of on the international market.
The bayonet is a fairly standard design, with a triangular blade and heavy socket with locking ring. Condition is very good, with some light staining, and a bit of wear to the tip.
A very nice example of a hard to find bayonet, ready to add to your collection!
