Original Item: Only One Available. China made a copy of the Japanese Type 90 Double Barrel Flare Pistol during the immediate post-war period and used it up until they adopted a Soviet-designed model in 1957. This example is a Chinese manufactured post war example offered in very good fully functional condition. Even though this is a Chinese clone, these are extremely hard to find on the collectors market today and are nearly identical to the WW2 Japanese issue. This example is serial number 08761, and there are no other markings on the pistol.
The Japanese Type 90 double barrel flare pistol is the most common of Japanese flare pistol, but is still rare, as only about 10,300 were made. Type 90 is not a typo: both the triple and double barrel models have the same model designation, which refers to their adoption in the Japanese year 2590 (1930). This Naval issued pistol was designed to fire 28mm flares.
