Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very interesting “pioneer” style hand saw kit used by the Australian armed forces during WW2. The actual kit was manufactured by Henry Disston & Sons out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. “DISSTON USA” can still be seen faintly marked underneath the eyelets on each side of the chainlink saw. The kit appears to have been issued but used slightly. The saw still has heavy amounts of packing grease present throughout the metal and the teeth are still quite sharp!
This kit appears to be complete with 4 handles, chisels and files. The wood on the handles have quite a bit of staining present on them. The chainlink saw is wrapped around its proper storage block and secured by a leather strap with buckle. The leather transport bag is stamped on the front:
ROBCO LTD.
MONTREAL
1943
On the inside flap a “Broad Arrow” stamp can be found.
This is a wonderful complete kit for a crucial tool to have inside your vehicles and even on the frontlines with Combat Engineers! Comes ready to be researched further and displayed!
