Original Item: Only One Available. In good working order these are a pair of POWER X 5 binoculars, as often used by Officers while overseeing the soldiers under their command. These are in good condition, mostly functional and with majority of the black paint still intact. They have however been repainted, which has made many of the markings very hard to read. The original rubber eye cups are missing completely, and there is currently no way to adjust the focus on either side. There is a neck strap, but it looks to be post war and is broken off on one end. Still the optics are clear, and the image is quite good.
The Left Barrel is marked on the base plate with the specifications:
X5 BINO. PRISM
Mk. IV.
No. 342
The Right Barrel is marked on the base plate, however the repaint job has made the markings all but illegible.
The binoculars come in a very nice leather carry case, marked on the top with:
B. H. & G. LTD
1942
BINOCULAR PRIMSATIC No5
CASE MK 1.
The case is in good condition, though unfortunately both the carry strap and the securing strap for the lid are partly missing. There is still the strap on the lid to open it, but it is delicate.
A very nice set of WWII British Binoculars, complete with case!
