Original Item: Only One Available. This is a genuine vintage WW2 Leonidas military GSTP stem winding pocket watch. The watch has a stem-winding movement which ticks away nicely. The Swiss jeweled movement is unsigned.
The case is chrome plated and has light surface marking from use and the case back has mild denting although it is in nice condition for a WW2 piece. The case back is stamped G.S.T.P (General service time piece) and the number N.9672 with British military broad arrow.
The white dial is signed Leonidas with Swiss made at the bottom. Case diameter 52mm. Original light tan dial has some aging, but still looks good like a military watch should, with black and luminous markers and skeleton hands. Luminous is no longer active. Dial signed Leonidas. A fine quality 15-jewel movement by a company with an excellent reputation for fine military watches.
A major supplier for the German army during the 30s, the Leonidas Company was originally formed by Julien Bourquin in Switzerland in 1841 and was named after the legendary king of Sparta. The company specialized in fine stopwatches, chronographs and multifunction watches for aircraft and car instrument panels. In 1964 the company merged with Heuer, forming Heuer-Leonidas S.A.
There is no warranty for this watch and returns for a non-working watch will not be honored. Please note all watches are wound and tested then recorded on video before shipment. We are not in the watch repair business – ALL SALES ARE FINAL.
