Original Item: Only One Available. The Zuckerman helmet, officially designated the Civilian Protective Helmet, was a British helmet designed for use by civil defense organizations and the general public during World War II. It was researched and designed by Solly Zuckerman, Derman Christopherson and Hugh Cairns.
This example is marked FG, for FIRE GUARD, which replaced the earlier designation SFP for “Street Fire Party. It has been marked AMC for the Austin Motors Co. of Longbridge on the inside rim. It also has an AMC mark stamped on the underside of the leather sweatband. It is in good condition with original paint and liner. The chin strap is unfortunately missing, and the stitching on the liner sweatband is about 40% pulled out. A nice example of home front headgear from the blitz!
