Original British WWII Commemorative First Pattern Fairbairn-Sykes Fighting Knife by Wilkinson Sword Company – The Battle of the Bulge Original Items

Original Item: Only One Available. Manufactured by Wilkinson Sword Limited, London, England this is a limited edition, fewer than 2500 made, “The Battle of the Bulge” commemorative Fairbairn Sykes Commando Knife. The Battle of the Bulge version was one of six in the “American Historical Foundation Series I: The War in Europe”.

The War in Europe Series: Produced by the renowned Wilkinson Sword Co., the blades were etched with the same logo as used in WWII for the first time in nearly 50 years. The knives are combat-worthy and the details of the etching are exquisite. The guards are gilt steel and the handles are lathe turned and knurled brass. The only thing missing are the vise marks on the top nuts, care being taken not to ruin the gold plating. Each knife came in its own fitted velvet case with gilt latches. Today these knives are starting to become serious collector’s items and reflecting their true value.

This example is offered in near mint condition with original box, matching numbers certificate of authenticity and other papers. It is serial number 1403 of 2500 issued. The knife measures 11 7/8″ total Length and 6 7/8″ blade.

The knife is contained in a high quality blue felt lined case and comes with the original serial numbered certificate of authenticity and various other documents for care, preservation and the history of both the knife and the Battle of the Bulge.
