Each pail is genuine military surplus, un-issued, just stored for decades, these are official Flax cloth construction utility pails commonly used for gunpowder, ammunition, potatoes, and even water! Ingeniously designed to be collapsible for easy stowing in a rucksack, footlocker, or ammunition cart. Truly rugged construction from sturdy thick material with roped inner supports and cloth covered wooden carry handle secured with brass tacks. Each has the faint remains of original military markings on the bottom. In common use since the 17th Century these were very prevalent in the Victorian era and during World War One. Never issued but have storage stains from age.
