Original Item: One of a Kind. This is a very high quality item, a STERLING SILVER mounted clasp knife equipped with FOUR Assorted Blades, a Button Hook, an Awl and a Cork Screw. The folding knife is encased between Sterling Silver Side Plates, one of which bears hallmarks, which are unfortunately no longer legible. The other side Plate is engraved with the owner’s name:

Trevor Durrant was born in Surrey, England on January 21st 1893. He joined the Royal Flying Corp on August 5th 1916 and was posted to 55 SQUADRON, where he gained One Aerial Victory. In December 1916 he was reassigned to 56 SQUADRON where he achieved a further 10 Aerial Victories, before engaging several German Fokker DR.1 fighter planes on May 16th 1918 when he was shot down and killed just North of Albert in France.
He had amassed ELEVEN VICTORIES when he was killed in Action aged just 25 years of age with the rank of CAPTAIN.
