Original Item: One Only! These are the original flat Mk 1 muzzle cones showing highly dramatic BATTLE DAMAGE! This flat version was replaced by the pointed Mk 3 cone to minimize the kind of damage illustrated in these three samples. When the muzzle attachment is hit, its alignment with the bore is changed, and typically the next round or two hit the edge of the central hole in the attachment.
Sample 3: Extensive damage to both Mk 1 cone and to the casing. The bullet hit the side of the casing and edge of the cone, shattering the cone in the vicinity, then ricocheted off the central cone and finally smashed into the inside rim of the cone. The casing is dramatically distorted, and the Vickers gunner fired at least two more shots after the impact, as can be seen from the central opening in the cone.
