Original Item: One of a Kind. Just arrived from England, another great WWI collector’s item with a known history. Here we have a lovely Officer’s custom made Swagger Stick, with a carved Dog’s Head with orange stone eyes (one missing). It measures 29 1/2″ in overall length, and is mostly black with a brass end cap. Around the neck of the Dog’s head is a large silver band engraved:-
Lt. Percy Jack Clayson

Born in London in 1896, Percy started in the Royal Navy Air Service in 1914, and then transferred to the ROYAL FLYING CORPS as a Second Lieutenant on July 19th 1917, where he joined ” No.1.” Squadron on October 31st, 1917. He turned out to be an exceptional Pilot and gained 29 Aerial Victories. He was then acknowledged as an AIR ACE and awarded the DISTINGUISHED FLYING CROSS, which was presented to him personally by King George V on July 24th 1919. After the War he remained in the newly founded RAF, officially retiring in 1929. He rejoined for WW2 and final retired from the service in 1954, aged 58.
