Original Item: Only one Available. This is the standard Victorian issue Police Truncheon, as supplied to each Constable (Bobby) and carried in a hidden pocket in his right hand trouser leg. It has a grooved circular grip and measures 11 1/2″ overall. The small size suggests that it was used by Bobby Police patrolling the Royal Dock Yards, who would not have room to swing the larger versions.
The wrist strap is missing, though the leather loop that it was attached to still remains. The truncheon is also stamped ” CROWN” over “V.R.” dating it from the final 20-30 years of the reign of Queen Victoria. who died in 1901.
