New Made Item: It is a matter of official record that after the introduction of the Sten series of Sub Machine Guns in WW2 it became necessary that a Fore Grip be installed. The barrel jacket just became too hot to handle and the logical grasping of the horizontal magazine, although comfortable, apparently led to magazine feeding problems. As a result the Sten Wood Fore Grip was introduced at the same time as the Mark V Sten Gun configuration. These Fore Grips could also be used with the Mark II Stens but the Mark III Sten needed adjustment to the jacket seams for use with the Fore Grip.
These are the original 1st model design Reproductions, later a longer version was introduced apparently for Commando and Paratrooper use. Consisting of a wood bag shaped grip with finger grooves, secured to the barrel jacket with a steel ring and tightened by a steel bolt ascending through the grip, a simple solution to a perceived problem. This was frankly not a popular modification resulting in a very small survival rate. Nevertheless an “Official” WW2 accessory modification to the famed British WW2 Sten Gun. New ready to install, Sten 1st model wood Fore Grip Assembly.
