Original Item: The original Tommy Helmet chinstrap Britain entered WW2 with were not elasticated but had integral springs sewn into the construction. In short order these were replaced with these much cheaper to produce elasticated versions. Measuring approximately 16″ overall upstretched these were very easy to fit and use and by D-Day in 1944 were the standard issue.
Used with the standard British Brodie Helmets of the early WW2 years and the Turtle Helmets, Model 1944 as often seen on D-day these chin straps continued in use until the Turtle helmet was obsoleted in the 1980s. In Dark Olive Jungle Fighting color these are in really very good pliable condition ready for fitting to many different style of helmet varieties.
Correct for British WWII Brodie helmets and all versions of the British P-1944 Turtle Helmet, but will also interface with many other Military helmets of the past.
