Original Item: Only One Available. This is a post 1881 trooper helmet of the South Wales Borders who before 1881 were known as the 24th REGIMENT OF FOOT, the regiment that fought at the battle Rorke’s Drift in the Zulu Wars in 1879.
This particular helmet bears a King’s crown on the helmet plate indicating it was issued after 1901.
Comes complete with paper maker label in the interior that reads:

The leather headband is somewhat tattered but otherwise the helmet is in good solid shape. Complete with chained brass leather backed chin trap, a very difficult Regimental home service helmet to find.
