Original Item: Only One Available. These bayonets were intended to serve as the “Every man Tool”, and were designed to work with the 5.56 mm. NATO caliber SA80 family of assault rifles. The first pattern scabbard was designed to work as a folding saw, wire cutters, etc. This was unfortunately not a success, and consequently the next run of bayonets were issued with a “stripped” Scabbard, which fitted into a carrier. This example however comes in a very nice white parade scabbard with a brass throat, used for dress occasions.
The bayonet is all steel with a hollow ribbed hilt to fit over the muzzle of the SA80 / L3A1 Rifle, its only addition part being the bayonet catch and spring. The bayonet was also a single piece forging, so no assembly was required, and they could be made quickly and economically.
In fine condition, heavily phosphate finished blade with black steel hilt. Ready to display!
