Also included are a pair of good condition MK IV series (specifically MK IVB) goggles. Manufactured with a black painted pressed brass frame incorporating hinged lens holders. With this pattern the lenses fit directly into the goggle frames without the need for sub-frames around them. The goggle frame is in very good condition. The leather nose-piece and chamois backing are both in great condition but the rubber face pads have hardened with age (very typical). All strap components are very good and present, the leather closure strap has clear Air Ministry markings that reads: A M (Air Ministry) MARK IVB 22c/167. The clear lenses are very nice. This set of goggle does not have the anti-glare screen, commonly known as the flip shield.
Overall a fantastic 1939 dated Battle of Britain Royal Air Force Flying helmet and goggle set!
