Original Item. Only one available. This early brass constructed two draw telescope has a fine wood covering to the barrel, and is definitely of top quality construction. It has a movable dust shield for the eyepiece lens, as well as a front dust cover on the sun shade that has a movable shield, so it is not necessary to remove the lens shield to use the telescope. The barrel nearest the eye piece is marked:
F Stoppani,
London,
Day or Night.
On pulling the sun shade forward on the front of the telescope the name Capt. G. Martin, R.N. is revealed.
The scope measures just over 39″ when fully extended and just 15″ when fully closed. The instrument is quite usable however the lenses do have a bit of dust on them from the years. This has recently arrived from a major Telescope Collection Sale of which we were fortunate to secure a few fine items, including this wonderful example.
