Original Item: One-of-a-Kind. Horn drinking vessels were common in the Royal Navy. This is a small Horn beaker made from a Cow’s Horn very nicely scrimshawed with a Naval Fouled Anchor set amidst “G.” and “R.” for King George III. This King reigned from 1760 until 1820, and this dates to the Napoleonic Wars of the 1790’s, which ended in 1815.
Standing just 3″ tall and almost 2″ wide at its brim this most probably was carved by a regular seaman in his time off duty. Very nice dating to approximately 1800.
