Original Item: Only One Available. We were told this is British Naval Spear or Pike, but we’ve seen nothing like it before. Made of quality steel blade with squared socket section to hardwood pole that has been shortened to just 50″ in overall length. The steel spear is almost 24″ long. The shaft has been shortened to allow it to be displayed in a panoply of Arms, and shows a couple of holes that at some time held it in display position.
The interesting fact is that the quality of the blade in very high and on one side of the square half socket clearly stamped into the steel is what remains of the word TOWER. This has come from a marvelous old Royal Naval collection IMA acquired in 2014 and we would appreciate any further information any collector could provide.
