Original Item: Only One Available. This is massive, 42 inches in overall length with a huge heavy 26-inch iron barrel that is almost a two full inches in diameter across at the muzzle.
This Blunderbuss weighs 13 pound, doesn’t sound like a lot but believe us this is a heavy brute to be carrying around, say nothing of the potential recoil.
British Naval issue iron barreled blunderbuss with all brass Naval regulation mounts and early Brown Bess type flintlock mechanism that is marked with Crown over G.R. and G. Haskins 1758 across the tail of the lock plate.
The barrel is very early and has the tang screw rising from just in front of the trigger, the barrel still retaining genuine Birmingham proof marks. The iron rammer is missing but could easily be replicated and replaced.
An absolutely honest, untouched blunderbuss with a mature luster, dating from around 1740, this magnificent example is ready to display.
