Original Item: Only One Available. Found at the Baltimore Gun Show this is a seriously rare and very desirable British Naval Iron Barreled Flintlock Blunderbuss made by GRICE and dated 1758.
Just one year before the British attacked and took Quebec and French Canada. Classic Brass Naval mounts of virtually flat squared off butt plate, ball front to the trigger guard and long flat side plate with “tail” behind the rear lock screw. Iron Barrel measuring almost 15 inches with stock cut with very elegant bannister rail butt.
Lock marked with very clear Crown over G.R. with maker name GRICE with 1758 across the tail.
English Proof marks to barrel. Wood and brass ramrod probably a replacement. An honest classic from a recently deceased collector’s collection well worthy of any British Colonial collection. Offered in near excellent condition.
