Original Item: After numerous customer requests we have decided to offer a very limited quantity of these hard to find bayonets apart from the musket. Received from the kingdom of Nepal in 2003 we got just one case of these extremely scarce socket bayonets intended only to fit the .75 cal. Model “F” EIC Percussion Musket of the 1840s which specifications were also adopted by the British as the P-1842 musket.
All bear Hindi markings (no British markings are visible) these were what the Sepoy Infantry carried in both the Sikh Wars, of 1845/6 and 1848/9 and later in the Great Sepoy Rebellion (Indian Mutiny of 1857-58). Overall length 20.5″ with a 16.5″ blade, the socket is specially designed to encircle the Model “F” bayonet stud catch under the barrel.
Sold in uncleaned condition just as we found them in Nepal after 150 years of storage.
