Original Item: Only One Available. The Traditional Bobby helmet was named after the creator of the British Police Force, SIR ROBERT PEEL, who became Prime Minister under Queen Victoria. This version in particular is very hard to find. It is an early “ROSE TOP” Bobby helmet, with a silvered “rose” on the top, as opposed to a ball of a comb. Most police forces moved to the comb top long ago, but some still use the traditional style.
This helmet has an enameled Helmet Plate stating: MINISTRY OF DEFENCE POLICE, which surrounds Queen Elizabeth II’s royal monogram ER II. It was made by Columbus of Gloucester, U.K. with Riot Gear lining, which has a chin strap with a rubber chin “cup”. Fully maker marked with care instructions and made to BS-397 (British Standard) ABSORPTION AND PENETRATION requirements.
In just about un-issued condition, with both regular chin strap and Riot Gear chin strap, in a large size approx 7 1/2.
Ready to wear or Display.
