Original Item: Only One Available. These came out of an English Country Estate with an affluent history and may well have been left over from the old Slave Trade. As much as we would deplore it today, 250 years ago the Slave Trade was considered respectable and frankly a good financial proposition.
So here they are, made of hand wrought iron with an integral lock for one ankle and and a running lock on the other solidified once attached to the master chain. Rust covered with the initials V. A. on the lock, which no doubt represent the Slave Owner, the Plantation or the Slave Ship; wherever these were used. Some links very worn so no doubt have seen a lot of use. They measure 37 inches overall when stretched out.
Complete with operating “Screw Key” to open the lock, though the lock does seem somewhat frozen. Ready to display!
