Original Item: Only One Available. Incredibly rare British Infantry Officers Sword (1845 Pattern Sword) manufactured around 1850 issued to the Kingdom of NEPAUL. This Victorian-era infantry officer’s sword features a single fullered etched blade and beautiful gothic style hilt in gilt brass. he grip is sharkskin over wood, which does show wear. The blade at the base is marked with a six-sided star, which would normally have PROVED in a brass disc in the middle, but the disc is missing. On the reverse it is marked:

The brass hand guard which would normally have the VR cypher is marked NEPAUL complete with a matching totally original all brass tropical scabbard. The 32 1/2″ blade is etched with scrolls and Nepalese Royal symbols, though these are a bit faded in areas. Scabbard bears some dents and wear, with some exposure of the brazed seam.

Very probably supplied after the Ruler of Nepal visited The Great Sepoy Rebellion, known as the Indian Mutiny of 1857 to 1859. Offered in great display condition this is a very rare British contractor made sword perfect to add to any British Victorian collection.
