Original Item: Recovered from the Egyptian Citadel armory in the 1970s, these are 21-inch triangular bladed 1876 Martini-Henry Rifle socket bayonets, converted in 1895 to fit .303cal Martini-Enfield rifles. The conversion from the original .450/.577 Martini-Henry caliber allowed both the rifles and therefore the bayonets to see further service in the empire, utilizing the modern .303 British ammunition. Internal diameter of the socket is approximately 0.665″. Markings vary but all will have Arabic and British markings. As seen in Lawrence of Arabia!
Scabbard is not included with this item.
