Original Item: Only One Available. This is one of the very few .303 caliber Martini Enfield rifles fount in the Royal Palace of Nepal.
Featuring a full sized action with the short martini lever system. The rifle has the original short 24″ barrel with sporting front sight and a triple position folding back sight. The breech of the barrel bears the ” Birmingham Small Arms Company ” logo of three stacked rifles and the barrel bears genuine British proof marks.
The gun is half stocked and the wood butt bears the British stamping of 1895 on one side and various Nepali stamps on the reverse. Original sling mounting rings permanently attached to underside of the barrel and screwed into the butt stock.
A nice compact Martini sporting rifle, no doubt intended for use in an Elephant’s Howdah, the small basket style seating compartment borne on the animals back used in big game, principally tiger hunts. Offered in fully cleaned and complete condition.
