Raised in 1847 the X11 Bengal Irregular Cavalry was one of Regiments that rebelled against British Rule in the 1857/59 Indian Mutiny (Sepoy Rebellion) and many troopers fled to Nepal to avoid execution by the vengeful British Government troops that subsequently took over India from the Honorable East India Company in 1859 thereby bringing India directly under British rule.
