Original Item: Only One Available. This large caliber revolver was made in Liege in Belgium and has the town stamp on the cylinder. Almost certainly made for the U.S. Market, it is in either .44 Caliber or .45 Caliber. It is 6 shot, nickel plated, has a spur on the trigger guard and has extremely fancy “gutta percha” hard rubber grips than are beautifully molded designs in an intricate pattern and are in perfect condition.
The revolver is Single and Double Action and was intended to rival the Colt and Remington Revolvers of the day, and is maker marked D.F. in a circle on the frame. It also is marked FRONTIER above the cylinder by the rear sight.
The cylinder is stamped with the Belgian E. / L.G. / * in an oval marking on the back, indicating manufacture in the legendary gun-making city of Liège, Belgium. The action cycles well in single and double action, and the loading gate and swing out ejector rod are present and functional.
Much finish remaining, an impressive early “FRONTIER” revolver, fully operational and ready to display!
