Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very good condition, turn of the century Belgian Leather fire helmet, very reminiscent of the German fire helmets in use at the time. It features a felt-lined leather body, with leather front and rear visors. It has a very nice nickel silver comb, as well as a front plate showing a coat of arms, which is probably for the City it was issued in. The large number of Lion motifs on the helmet indicate that it is Belgian in origin.
The helmet still has a complete black leather liner, with an intact top tie. The chin strap is present, attached to the helmet with Aluminum “Lion’s Head” attachment pins. The chin strap looks to be complete, with some tearing near the end, and is currently stowed in the “up” position.
This is an unusual and very attractive item. Offered in very good condition. Size is not marked but we estimate it to be around 57-58 cm.
