Original Item: Just received from an old collection in England are these sets Original Queen Elizabeth II Red Cavalry Troopers Parade Tunics of the Life Guards Division of the Household Cavalry complete with blue facings, gold “gimp” bordering and all Regimental Buttons (Royal Life Guards) in place.
Also included is an original pair of tapered dark blue coveralls with wide red stripe down outside of each leg. Each tapered leg has correct cavalry leather strap that affixes under the instep to prevent the tapered leg from riding up while in motion. Coveralls were worn when NOT wearing the traditional Steel Breast and Back Plates, on those occasions white leather jodhpurs were worn with tall black leather boots.
The Horsehair plumed helmet was always worn when mounted in armor but was optional when wearing coveralls as a navy and red visor hat with household cavalry regimental badge was also acceptable (we added a white pith helmet for the photos, available separately).
Each uniform set is offered as display only with NO SIZING available. As a general rule Household Cavalry Troopers are between 18-22 years of age, slim and amazingly fit so there is little chance of supplying “sized” sets for the average American male, most tunic sizes range between 36 – 40, perfect for a display manikin (also available separately).
