Original Item: Only One Available. This is a really good example of an Australian WW1 Officer’s leather holster intended for use with a .455 caliber Revolver like a Webley Mk.VI, a Colt New Service or a Smith and Wesson. Constructed of thick brown Cow leather, this holster is designed to be worn with the standard Sam Browne waist belt. Underneath the front flap is AUSTRALIA C.G.H.F for Commonwealth Government Harness Factory.
British manufacturers of the pattern 1908 web equipment struggled to keep up with the logistical demands of an expanding army. In late 1915, Australia’s answer to a webbing shortage was found in the Commonwealth Government Harness Factory (C.G.H.F) and its contractors, whom began manufacturing its own version of the Pattern 1908 equipment in leather. The Pattern 1915 Leather Equipment replicated the original 1908 design.
Unlike others we have had, this still retains a stud located under the belt loop secure the holster in place on the belt. The leather is still soft and has all of the stitching intact. Ready to add to your collection and display!
