Original Item: Only One Available. This is an extremely interesting, gorgeous British Flintlock Pistol by JOVER measuring just 11″ overall with a brass blunderbuss barrel of 5.25″. Of early style with no frizzen re-enforcement bar on the flash pan the lock is marked with “Crown/G.R.” with the Maker’s name across the lock tail together with the date of 1776.
An extremely unusual Pistol in that the dating of Military lock plates had essentially ceased by 1762 so this almost “civilian better quality” government marked pistol must have been ordered for some special department possibly Customs or Revenue Service.
In just lovely gently aged condition totally original even the ramrod has a quality iron “Screw Worm” to the base. A Collector’s dream with delightful detail and markings that deserve continued research.
