Original Item: Only One Available. An excellent example of a WWII Australian Issue Machete, often referred to as a “Machete 15 Inch” in Australian Army parlance. Beautifully marked with a DD Broadarrow and dated 1944. These machetes, especially in this condition, are quite difficult to find on this side of the globe.
This machete is blade marked with “D (broadarrow) D” with “DC-1944” underneath. The DC indicates that this particular example was fabricated by Die Casters Pty Ltd of Melbourne. The machete itself is in beautiful condition, still exhibiting a gorgeous blued finish, original sharpened edge (devoid of nicks!). The original plastic grip scales are in excellent condition, unbroken, and only showing slight wear from handling over the decades.
The sheath is the standard All-leather British/Commonwealth Machete Sheath. The Body is made of green painted leather which is retained quite nicely but there are areas of cracking and color loss. This sheath is a specimen that matches the machete perfectly. The markings on the reverse with F. LTD and is dated 1939, a nice early example!
An excellent example that would be quite difficult to upgrade from! Ready for display!
