Original Item: Only One Available. A fantastic genuine WWII example of an Australian or New Zealand made commando aluminum handle fighting knuckle knife with original custom leather scabbard. This style knife is a hard to find rare version. A nearly identical knife is featured in the book FIGHTING KNIVES by Frederick Stephens on page 53 as well as on the front and back cover.
These were made by three different manufacturers, with AKE being one of them. We have not been able to find out much more about this maker. It has been suggested that there was only one maker, and that the markings are just from the distributors.
Features:
• Cast aluminum checkered grip with well retained paint.
• Skull crusher grip pommel.
• Thin blade in very good condition, maker marked AKE / REGD.
• Custom made ANZAC style leather scabbard, with embossed leather and aluminum throat support.
A wonderful example of a classic commonwealth fighting knife rarely encountered on today’s collector market. Check local legal restrictions on metal knuckles before ordering.
