Original Item: Just found a few in the back of the warehouse! Originally received from British Colonial Military Stores, these are brown Leather Rifle Slings originally introduced at the end of the 19th century and issued up until the early years of WWII when webbing superseded them.
Each sling is complete with fixed leather ring on one end, sliding leather ring and tie thong. With each order we will enclose assembly instructions. Correct with all Enfield .303 caliber rifles from Martini to WWII bolt-action models-most famous for its part in WWI. All are bear WWI Dates!
Note: Slings are sound, without major damage or rot but leather will be dry & stiff as it is nearly 100 years of age, it will need some softening before use to avoid damage. We strongly recommend neats foot oil.
Also, all slings bear both WWI & WWII dates, this is because WW1 slings were reissued in WW2. In the late 1930’s and early 10940’s many brass grommets were replaced, when this was done the re-furbisher would mark the sling with a reissue date and/or another manufacture’s marking.
