Original Item: Only One Available. Here we have a very nice example of a 20th Century Spanish Diplomat’s sword, most likely from during the rule of Spanish General Francisco Franco. He ruled Spain from 1939 to 1975 as a dictator, assuming the title Caudillo.
The sword is definitely of the Dress or Parade type, not intended for actual use. It features an Eagle Pommel with a white plastic grip, and a cross guard ending in Eagle’s Heads. The thin nickel plated blade is marked TOLEDO / SPAIN on one side, with a Mountain & Pickaxe logo on the other side, over PIC. We unfortunately have not been able to identify this maker. The sword still has a worn red felt blade buffer in place.
The sword comes in a rather deteriorated leather scabbard with a gilt brass throat fitting. The frog button features the image of a helmeted soldier roman style helmet. The leather body is deteriorated, missing all switching and end fitting / drag. Overall it is in delicate condition.
