Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice OTTOMAN Turkish flintlock pistol, made to follow the standard European lines. It features all iron mounts and partly checkered stock exhibiting a wood ramrod which is unusual for Ottoman pistols. The fore end wood was cut for some reason about 4 inches back from the muzzle, which we have left unrepaired, as it is part of the history of the pistol.
With a 12 inch barrel and overall length of 19 inches, this is a typical “holster pistol” style arm, used throughout the Ottoman empire and much of the Mediterranean area. The pistol comes with a typical Ottoman flintlock mechanism bearing a “swan neck” cock, and has a very strong mainspring. The lock is fully functional, holding correctly at half cock and firing at full.
A very nice Ottoman Flintlock pistol, ready to restore or display as is!
