Original Item: Only One Available. Commonly found being used by the OTTOMAN PIRATES, these are extremely attractive and just great decoration. The Barrel is 13 inches long, with an overall length of 20 1/2 iches, making this pistol most imposing.
The lovely quality brass butt plate heavily decorated, possibly of European origin. It has a faux ramrod under barrel, which is to be expected as the Ottomans carried ramrods on a cord around their necks. The entire stock is heavily engraved, with silver wire and teardrop shaped inlays in places. The lock, side plate, and other brass fittings are similarly decorated. The barrel also has some inlay work, though it is somewhat more crude.
The Barbary Pirates became a real problem in the early 1800’s and it needed the new Nation of the United States to send a force to settle the problems in the 1820’s.
Offered fully cleaned and restored, lovely to look at and ready to Display!
