Original item: Only One Available. This is really Special. This lovely Flintlock Pistol that dates to 1800 to 1820 originates from the Ottoman Empire that today we refer to as Turkey although at that time the Empire embraced much of Eastern Europe, the Middle East and across Northern Africa. This type and style of pistol is also very typical of the weapons used by the Barbary Pirates, who operated out of North Africa.
This pistol clearly belonged to someone of importance, and has a wood stock which has the back half covered in heavily worked embossed Silver sheeting. The iron parts of the barrel and the lock are also covered in engravings. It is just possible that the SILVER BUTT CAP and SILVER CLADDING may be of European origin, so fine is the handwork. There is also some quite fine engraving on the uncovered wood area as well. The quality of this work is truly amazing!
This is truly magnificent and a joy to see. Fully cleaned and ready to Display!
