Original Item: Only One Available. Here is a very typical Ottoman Pirate Pistol used by the Barbary Pirates who caused such havoc in the Mediterranean Sea in the early 1800s. It was actually the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps that landed at Tripoli in what is now Libya and defeated the local Bey, much to the delight of the European Nations and North African Countries who had suffered the Pirate scourge.
Beautifully executed in very nice condition with exceptional wood carving, metal engravings and Silver inlays. The half-octagonal damascus steel barrel is 11″, with an overall length of 18 1/2″. The stock has a “faux” carved ramrod, as it was Ottoman tradition to carry a ram rod separately suspended around the neck of the Pirate on a leather thong so it could not be lost during combat.
Most attractive and ready to display!
