Here we have a unique weapon that was worn on the foot with a double edged blade jutting out to the side towards your other foot. When attacking the native would leap upon the back of his enemy and rode him like a horse digging in his “spurs”, which were in fact blades, resulting in the killing of his victim. This example measures 9 1/2″ overall, with a 6″ leaf-shaped blade.
This is only the second example we have ever seen! Fascinating and very rare, dating from the 1780’s/1790’s Ready to display!
