Original British Item: Only One Available. This is wonderful and definitely old, a British Naval small signal cannon, constructed from solid bronze with a smooth bore the size of .63″. This was roughly the caliber of the standard British military flintlock pistols of the time, though they were used without any type of projectile. This is not a model or just a decorative item, and these were used for sending signals between British Man-O-War Battleships while undersail.
A substantial item, weighing a solid 5 1/2 LBS and measuring 13″ in overall length, including the Cascabel (the nob on the rear). Clear touch hole showing clear bore and bronze “dolphin” suspending hooks popular on early style cannon tubes.
This is the genuine article, very heavy for its size. Most attractive and very rare to find. Ready to display!
